Welcome to Woodhouse Pre-School!
Woodhouse Pre-School is situated within Ilsington C of E Primary School in the middle of a thriving and beautiful village. We have access to the school’s outdoor facilities including the playground, large field and pond area, as well as our own dedicated pre-school area which has a wide range of resources.
We often join the school for fundraising events, sports day and special services at Easter, Harvest and Christmas in St Michael's Church across the road.
We have funded and non-funded spaces available for children from the age of 2.
All children are eligible for 15 hour funding from the term after their third birthday. We also accept 2 year old funding and extended 30 hour funding for 3 and 4 year olds.
We are open:
Monday – Friday (term time only)
Sessions available are:
9:15am – 3:15pm
9:15am – 12:15
9:15am – 1:15pm if you would like your child to stay for lunch
What we do
We plan a wide range of different activities and topics for each term and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The emphasis is on learning through play and having fun!
Your child will be given the opportunity to experience climbing and sliding, music making, food tasting, painting, drawing, reading, storytelling, bug hunting, pond dipping, dancing, games, sand and water play, baking, dressing up, craft, junk modelling, building and construction, role-play and exploring the local area including our Outdoor Learning woodlands!
Parents / Carers
We recognise that you are the primary educators of your children and therefore it’s incredibly important for parents, carers and pre-school staff to work together to help your child feel confident, happy and secure within the group.
We welcome you and your child to join us for a taster session at any time to come along and see what we get up to.

Woodhouse Pre-School is regulated and inspected by OFSTED.
We have a qualified team with a wide range of knowledge and skills, who have trained and have experience in the care and education of pre-school aged children.
Each child will have a key worker and this member of staff will work closely with the child and their family.
Our goal is to provide a happy, secure and nurturing environment in which children can take their first steps in education and socialising away from home.
What a varied week we have had in Woodhouse! From making funny faces - to using 3D shapes to create barns and fences in our small world farm.
We are very excited to have begun our Christmas preparations! We have made some animals and house silhouettes for our amazing new stable scene!
