At Ilsington, we use a relational approach to managing behaviour, focusing on building positive relationships and encouraging effective communication between adults and children.
Research has shown that adults that model a calm, regulated approach when meeting strong emotions in others can help children to effectively regulate their own behaviours over time.
As a school team we are drawing on the research shared in the book When Adults Change , Everything Changes, by Paul Dix.
