Phonics & Early Reading at Ilsington CE Primary School
At Ilsington our children are taught rigorous and systematic synthetic phonics through the Bug Club scheme.
Children in our Pre-school begin learning phase one phonics through environmental sounds and learn to sing the Alphabet Song.
From Reception children learn phonics phases 2 to 4 through a daily four part lesson and enjoy learning together, through songs and games.
In year 1 children continue their daily phonics learning to embed their previous knowledge and to learn phase 5 phonics.
Miss Willis ran a phonics workshop for
Reception and KS1 parents.
